Dave's Story

Dave was a Bristol boy for most of his life, born in 1963.

He met his wife, Mandy, when he saw her getting into her mother’s car outside her aunt’s house across from where he lived. He sent her a valentine’s card and, from there, they got married at the end of the same year.

He worked hard all his life in a variety of jobs including painting, decorating and general building work.  They were blessed with two daughters and in 2012 a grandson who was the apple of his eye.  His main hobbies were fishing and golf and of course running around after the girls.

Unfortunately in 2014 he had to have a melanoma removed from his back and all was well for a while.  They bought a camper van and travelled around the UK for eighteen months eventually moving back to a small village outside Bristol.

However, in May 2018 Dave was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer which had metastasised from the previous melanoma.  The doctors gave him only weeks to live but he came out of hospital ten days later and with treatment he managed to enjoy life until the New Year eventually succumbing a few days before his 56th birthday in March.

Mandy wanted to move back closer to her girls in Keynsham once Dave became ill and with recommendation, Alison came to the house on several occasions and spent a lot of time helping them by greatly improving their financial situation with which they were very grateful

"Alison, we are so grateful for the help, support and guidance you provided over this very difficult time"
