Trusts & Gifting

You may already have a trust fund in place and need a review. The Trustee Act 2000 made requirement for trustees to ensure that they seek advice to ensure that the assets within a trust are appropriate and in the ultimate interest of all parties to the trust. If you feel your trust fund has not been reviewed to this level then we will be able to review and evaluate this for you.

Trusts can be used as part of a legitimate estate planning process, it is a complicated area and often used in conjunction with other planning tools such as gifting to reduce the overall value of someone’s estate. Depending on the size of the trust property and or the complexity of the situation trusts can be established by independent law firms that we work alongside, or can be more simple off the shelf trusts available through insurance companies. Whatever the situation consideration of trusts is important to ensure that assets end up in the hands of those you wish to benefit and it is an area we can walk you through.
